Are fancy coffee drinks your vice?
Those creamy, sweet drinks are packed with fat and sugar, but that doesn’t mean you have to go without. If iced or blended coffee is your favorite then give this a try.
Flavored coffees are one of the easiest ways of adding flavor to your drink without adding calories. Pick out a flavored coffee bean that speaks to you. They come in all different varieties from Butterscotch Toffee to German Chocolate Cake to Raspberry Truffle.
Brew up a pot of it in your coffee maker. Pour into a pitcher to store the extra in the refrigerator.
After the coffee has cooled, pour over ice.
Add in about one-half cup of Unsweetened Vanilla or Chocolate Almond Milk* which you can find in most grocery stores, but will often be cheaper in specialty health stores like Trader Joe’s.
Sweeten to your taste with Stevia.
Now you have a delicious, creamy, sweet treat for only 20 calories! Nothing compared to the 300+ calories you would have consumed from your local coffee spot (cheaper too!)
You can also stick this concoction in your blender or have it hot out of the pot.
* Another great alternative is Unsweetened Soy Milk. It is thick and creamy for only about 35 calories for one-half cup.
